The book is about Maymunah helping her friend, Farah, after the death of her cat, Filfil. It addresses the heavy topic of grief and loss, explaining that sadness is a natural emotion. It teaches young readers that it’s okay to feel sad and to talk about those feelings. Through the story, children learn to turn to Allah in their sadness through prayer (duad u a𝑑𝑢𝑎) and to find strength in faith, friends, and family. The book includes activities and discussion prompts to help children process their emotions in a healthy, Islamic way.
